Announcement: “Beat the Clock” Matches to determine the #1 contender for the WWE champion Randy Orton. The 5 Wrestlers involve are Mark Henry, MVP, Triple H, Jack Swagger and John Cena.
Mark Henry def. Carlito (“Beat the Clock” Match)
Carlito lasted longer than I thought he would against Henry. Carlito held his own but Henry was just too big and strong. I really don’t like how the WWE uses Carlito. I think Primo and Carlito should have stayed as a tag team there is already a shortage of tag teams already. By the way Henry sets the time to beat at 6 minutes and 49 seconds with the World’s strongest slam.
Overall Match Grade: C+ (Just because it was not a complete squash match)
Divas Champion Mickie James, Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim def. Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes & Alicia Fox
Mickie James being the new Diva Champ was eventually going to happen but I thought she deserved it. Ok match here nothing really eye popin other than the girls. I don’t even remember if Kelly Kelly even entered the match. Alicia Fox wrestled pretty impressively. What do you guys think about a future Gail Kim vs Mickie James Title Match? It was Gail Kim with the pinfall win on Fox
Overall Match Grade: C
MVP vs. Chris Masters (double count-out) (“Beat the Clock” Match)
Wow I was shocked with the come back of Chris Masters. It’s a good addition to the Raw roster. When I found out he was MVP’s opponent I thought he had no chance of beating Henry’s time. There could be a future feud between these two. Good match. Are they going to being back the master-lock challenge? Result of the match double count out
Overall Match Grade: B-
United States Champion Kofi Kingston def. The Brian Kendrick
Kendrick is another wrestler being used wrong in the WWE. I think he needs to go back in the tag team scene. Hey Kendrick, stop talking so much and get yourself a partner so you will stop getting your ass kicked every week. Squash match. Kingston wins with his special move (trouble in paradise?)
Overall Match Grade: D (Because Kingston got him to shut up)
Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes (time expired) (“Beat the Clock” Match)
I did not want Triple H to beat the clock because I do not want to see another Triple H vs Randy Orton match. How times have these two faced each other already? Am I the only one getting tired of this. I got my wish he did not win. Thank you, Ted DiBiase for the interference. Its about time Triple H went after Rhodes and DiBiase you got to take them out first to get to Orton. Decent Match
Overall Match Grade: B-
Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero (Blindfold Match)
Waste of time….Poor Chavo being used as Hornswoggle wrestling dummy. Hornwoggle with the Tadpole Splash for the win.
Overall Match Grade: F
Evan Bourne def. Jack Swagger (“Beat the Clock” Match)
Good match…It was too bad I didn’t get to see his top rope finisher. Bourne could be the next Rey Mysterio he is already being compared as a young Mysterio. I honestly thought that Swagger might beat the clock time. Nice upset by Bourne. I am pretty sure Swagger will get his shot sooner or later. Bourne with the pinfall win.
John Cena def. The Miz (“Beat the Clock” Match)
After the Swagger/Bourne match, it was too obvious who Orton’s opponent was going to be and on top of that Orton comes out to watch the match. What does that obviously tell you? Finally John Cena gets his chance to fight Orton one on one. Cena with via submission (STF)
Overall Match Grade: C+
Cryme Tyme def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show (disqualification)
It would have been cool if Cryme Tyme won this match by pinfall to set up a future championship match possibly for Summer Slam. It may still happen you never know. We will see. It would be cool to see Cryme Tyme to get that title push I have not seen them wrestle in awhile. I disagreed when the WWE moved them from RAW to Smackdown. But other than that it was good to see Shaq get into the ring with the Big Show. Shaq is even taller than the Big Show. Disqualification win for Cryme Tyme.
Overall Match Grade: B
RAW Overall
Good-Ok matches overall. Chavo/Hornwoggle and Kingston/Kendrick brought the overall down. I loved the stop the clock scenario to determine the #1 contender. It was good to see Chris Masters back. I thought Shaq did a good job as Guest GM it was better than the two previous host.
Overall Show Grade: B
